A 38-year-old woman in Johannesburg, South Africa has been found murdered on the eve of her wedding. Nompumelelo Ngubane’s body was found strangled in the passenger seat of her car on Friday, August 18.
Her distraught mother Ntombifikile told reporters that Nompumelelo had left home early in the morning to do her hair at a salon and to pick her wedding gown in town.
However, she did not return. Her wedding was to be held on Saturday, August 19.
It later emerged that she had received threatening messages.
Ntombifikile said: “She received numerous threatening calls and WhatsApp messages for her to cancel her wedding.
A few weeks before the wedding, we found a letter that was slipped under the front door and the letter told her to ‘cancel the wedding or die.’”
